I have resumed drawing things that I have lost, and here is a digital drawing of my wayward Temple Bar t-shirt, purchased in Ireland on possibly the same day I lost another shirt. View a larger version of the image, as well as the rest of the series, here.

[Nostalgia illustrated] There were lights on in most of the houses, and Lewis could hear people laughing and talking and slamming doors.

On January 21, 2009, at about five pm, I slipped on an icy sidewalk in Boston. I fell hard on my right elbow. I didn’t discover until later, after I got off the CT1 bus in Cambridge, that my ipod mp3 player was missing. I still had the headphones.

It must have slipped out of my pocket when I fell.

The summer of 2006 I lost the second disc of Kieslowski’s The Decalogue — films Four (Honour thy father and thy mother), Five (Thou shalt not kill) and Six (Thou shalt not commit adultery); each of the hour-long films explores one of the Ten Commandments. I never found the wayward disc, and evenutally reported it missing.

I misplaced a camera battery pack — an extra one — somewhere, probably in June 2008. I may have lost it while taking pictures at an author event. I have not encountered it since. I was also borrowing the camera and therefore the batteries. I am in the process of replacing the missing item, with bashful apologies.

I have begun to draw [things that I have lost.]

On July 22 I lost my (at the time, fairly recently aquired) bright blue and white-striped polo shirt. It fell to the ground at some point as I hiked along the cliff walk overlooking Dublin Bay, on a rainy afternoon in Howth, Ireland. It had been draped over my messenger bag.

I recently decided to start drawing things that I have lost.

Last month sometime, my camera a/v cable disappeared. After a few weeks, I finally gave up looking for it and ordered a new one. The day after it arrived in the mail, I found my original cord — in a bag, in my apartment.
